Today’s Irish Tip runs in the 6f handicap at the Curragh (2:40pm).
The first of a few very interesting handicaps at the Curragh today and the Ken Condon-trained Swift Flight catches the eye. He ran well here over the minimum 5f on his penultimate start, and was doing his best work at the end on that occasion.
That was off a mark of 80 and he’s down to 77 now. He goes best with a bit of cut in the ground which is a definite edge he will have today over some of his more-fancied market rivals.
Ken Condon has his horses in fantastic form and he had a winner and a close second at this venue yesterday, as well as our each-way tip Ice Cold Alex finishing a close third in a big field here on Friday.
He’s a horse that needs to be ridden with patience but Joey Sheridan knows him well and his 3lbs claim is always handy. There is more rain forecast to fall before racing gets underway at the Kildare venue and I believe that will further enhance our selection’s chance, who I believe is overpriced at the current odds.
RECOMMENDED BET: 2:40 Curragh – Swift Flight each-way 5 places @ 8/1 most firms (12/1 bet365)
