Eddie & Patrick Harty have their National Hunt team in fine form at present, with a winner and three seconds from their four runners in the past fortnight, and Echoes Of Family looks overpriced to give them another success at Tipperary today.
The nine year old mare has yet to win a race, but has enough back form to suggest she can play a big role if fully tuned up for this first start under rules since October 2020. However, the yard is going very well and she did have the benefit of a spin between the flags in late May, finishing 4L third, so she is unlikely to be lacking for fitness.
Having done most of her running over shorter, there could yet be a bit of improvement at this trip. She ran well in a Thurles maiden hurdle last February on her first start over 2m5f (having never previously gone beyond 2m2.5f) and ran well from off the pace in a race that wasn’t run to suit at the same course in October.
Jockey Nicolas Terrassin has plenty of experience in France, where he has had over 300 rides since 2014. With a winner, three seconds and a fourth to his name from his six rides since coming to Ireland, he is a positive booking for a conditional jockeys’ contest. Before switching to a joint licence this year, Eddie Harty had an excellent career record here (17%, 5-29), which is another plus.
2.55 Tipperary – 1pt win, 0.5pt place Echoes Of Family @ 25-1 4 places (William Hill, Ladbrokes, Coral, Skybet, Boylesports)
