The penultimate day of what’s been a truly entertaining Galway Festival and it brings more punting opportunities than yesterday. The changing ground conditions will play a role and we have went with a couple of selections who we believe will relish conditions.
2.30pm Galway – Ambitious Fellow 1pt each-way 6 places @ 9-1 most firms (12-1 available)
Peter Fahey is one of the hottest trainers of the week and this horse likes to win. He was a surprise winner of the Red Mills auction series final at Punchestown but has backed that up winning at Roscommon beating Plains Indian who placed for us here at the beginning of the week. Sam Ewing is a good jockey both on the flat and over jumps and he was on board for valuable Punchestown win. Looks over-priced and plenty of places on offer once more.
4.45pm Galway – Excuzio Joe 1pt win @ 4-1 most firms
Ran well here Wednesday and was beaten less than two lengths. She had absolutely no luck in running and was starting to get going again but the line came to quick in that occasion. Trainer has a small string and he has already been one of the success stories of the week with two winners.
We are confident with a bit of luck this mare will get here due reward. Declan McDonagh is in my opinion jockey of the week and he’s been very strong up the Galway hill.
