We’re taking fitness on trust, but Isotta has the best form in the book in the 1m5f maiden at Marseille (1.15pm) and is a bet on her debut in France.

 

The well-bred daughter of Camelot finished a running-on second on her final start in Ireland for Ger Lyons.  That came over 1m4f on soft ground, and she was beaten only by next-time-out Listed winner Perotan.  The third and fifth have also since won maidens and it is a good piece of form, and particularly strong in the context of this race.

 

A half-sister to Group 2 winner Boris De Deauville, Isotta remains in Coolmore ownership and looks a potentially useful recruit for Nicolas Perret.

 

There’s a chance she will be undercooked for today’s contest, but that’s also the case for the favourite Glorious Romance, who looked regressive in three starts for John Gosden in the spring.  Second favourite Heliopolis is rated just 31.5 (UK 69), so if Perret has her somewhere near the mark, Isotta should be winning this.
