LONGCHAMP TODAY

Roberto Mount runs in the opening Quinte handicap (12.50pm).  It looks quite a big ask for him, as his best form to date is on the All-Weather and unlike several of today’s rivals, he is returning from a three-month break today.

I was impressed by Lanaken‘s performance when scoring at Fontainebleau in March, though that came on soft ground and over a mile.  He drops back to 6.5f here (1.20pm), but he does have plenty of speed.  It looks quite a strong race, but hopefully he can run well.

Selket (1.50pm) looks to have a great chance in the 7f claimer.  She ran really well in a competitive All-Weather handicap last time, but all her previous form is on turf and she is best in at the weights this afternoon.

I really like Mister X, I think he has the ability to win a Quinte in time and I think conditions should be perfect for him today (4.20pm) – his recent form is on the All-Weather but I don’t think he will be inconvenienced by the switch to turf.
