Free UK Horse Racing Tips – Sunday 8th August

Top quality action at Deauville and the Curragh today. Less enticing in the UK with Haydock already a victim to the weather. We have two selections in the UK, one at Windsor and one at Redcar.

Tip 1 – 2.05pm Windsor

The sprint fillies’ handicap at 2.05pm is a small and moderate field. With showers forecast for most of the morning and afternoon, that will play in to the hands of Company Minx. This filly sprung a surprise when victorious at odds of 50/1 when last encountering softer ground in May. She is now 1lb below that winning mark.

Her last three runs on quicker ground have been nothing more than okay, the more rain that falls pre-race the better. Many of her rivals would have question marks on softer ground. Subject to plenty of support so far this morning given the forecast, she looks likely to contract further in the market prior to the off.

Reunited with the promising Liam Browne, who takes off 7lb, he knows the filly well. The yard are in fair form hitting the crossbar plenty of times recently and this daughter of Fast Company can go one better. Fast Company’s progeny go particularly well on soft ground so the amount of rain shouldn’t pose any problems.

2.05 Windsor – Company Minx 1pt win 6/1 general (13/2 with some firms)

Tip 2 – 4.00pm Leicester

Our second and final selection for Sunday comes from Leicester in the 4pm. This looks a fine opportunity for Dajraan to notch a second career success. The penny has very much dropped for the son of Frankel on his last two starts. He strikes as the type to keep on improving with racing and experience.

Blitzing his opposition at Redcar – the form of which has worked well – he was handed a 12lb rise. He nearly defied that rise in a stronger race over this course and distance on his most recent outing. The winner, 3rd and 4th were all held up and Dajraan did by far and away the best of those who raced prominently. Entering the final 2f he was still travelling well, looking the likely winner. I think that effort can be marked up.

He faces different ground conditions today but if proving effective on a softer surface, he takes all of the beating. It is feasible that he will get a relatively easy time on the front and can strike again.

4.00pm Leicester – Dajraan 1pt win 2/1 general
