Forbidden Secret is working nicely and the return to 1600m will suit him, so he has a chance in what looks an open race at Cagnes today (12.58pm).
The class horse on the card looks to be Bobbymurphy in the second (1.33pm) and I’m sure he will be very difficult to beat. Collingham has been running with credit this winter and hopefully he can challenge for the places.
In the Quinte (2.15pm), I am on Special Appeal, who ran really well on his debut for the Munich-based trainer Jutta Mayer, having been claimed after his previous run. It was a competitive conditions event in which he finished third last time, so I’m hoping for a good run.
Makenzo runs in the third division of the 2000m handicap (3.15pm) and looks another with an each-way chance. I have only ridden him twice and he has finished in the places on both occasions, so hopefully he can get his head in front.
In the last (4.45pm), Malaaw is among the outsiders, but he has run well enough on his last two starts, the return to the AW will suit and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him run very well. Miroslav Rulec’s horses are in very good form.
On paper, my best chance of the weekend is probably Raise Of Saints at Lyon tomorrow (3.00pm Sunday) for the excellent Edouard Monfort. She has finished second on her last two outings at Cagnes but looks to have a really good chance to go one better.
