A couple of low-grade handicaps to start the card at Kempton Park this evening and at a big price, it is worth chancing Disarming in the second division of the mile handicap (5.30pm).

The five year old sprung a surprise when scoring at 50-1 on her second start of the year in 2021, winning off a mark of 53 under today’s rider.  She went on to run creditably in defeat off 57 over this course and distance on her next outing, doing best of those held up.

She hasn’t quite had the run of things on her last two starts at Chelmsford, but is on a career-low mark here, where she has run three good races in the past.

She has also gone well on all three occasions Kingscote has been in the saddle and is nicely drawn in stall 3.   The first-time cheekpieces could well eke out some improvement and at 20-1, she looks overpriced to gain a second career success.

5.30pm Kempton Park – 1pt win, 0.5pt place Disarming @ 20-1 (all firms)
