Hugo Palmer will be very keen to make an impression on the Roodee this week, having taken over the reins at Manor House stables this season.  Glorious Angel ran well on debut at Nottingham and as the sole representative for the yard here, she is well worth backing at an attractive price this morning.

Her full sister was a dual winner over this course and distance as a two year old last year for Tom Dascombe, so it’s no surprise this filly was purchased to join the same yard at the sales last autumn.

Dam Angel Meadow was similarly speedy, winning on debut as a two year old at York and going on to gain black type, so it is a good, precocious family.

The draw could have been more favourable, but she has the early toe to get a prominent position and James Doyle couldn’t be in better form.

RECOMMENDED BET: 1.30pm Chester – Glorious Angel win @ 17/2 (various)

Andrew Balding has had more turf winners at Chester than anywhere else in the past five seasons and he has been the man to follow at this meeting in recent years.

Nymphadora may have finished last season on a quiet note, but she was keeping very good company, this Listed-winning filly running in five consecutive Group contests last term, including a fifth in the Lowther at York.

A mark of 96 looks within her compass and she has drawn stall 1, so there looks to be plenty in her favour today.

RECOMMENDED BET: 2.05pm Chester – Nymphadora win @ 6-1 (most firms)
