We head to Taunton for today’s bet, with Sawpit Sienna an interesting contender in the concluding handicap hurdle (4.05pm).

Sam Drinkwater’s mare had figures of 12202 for the yard last term.  Several pieces of her form read very well in the context of this, including when bumping into subsequent dual winner Mr Jack at Plumpton a year ago and pushing a well-handicapped mare close at Carlisle in March.

She has had just one run this season, when a fair fifth at Plumpton a month ago, and that should put her spot on for this.  The track should suit very well and though her win came over 2m4f, that was at Fakenham on a sound surface, and she does have the speed for this trip on soft ground.  Northern-based Alain Cawley, who has been on board the last twice, makes the journey to Taunton for one ride and hopefully he can make the journey worthwhile.
