The conditional jockeys’ handicap hurdle at Chepstow has an open look to it, but I like the chances of Supasunrise for in-form trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies.

He showed a bit of ability in three qualifying runs in novice hurdles at this trip in October-December, but couldn’t build on that in two handicap starts this year.  However, I don’t think he has been seeing out his races at 2m4f/2m5f, so the drop back in trip is a big plus.

Both winning siblings wanted good ground, and the sire’s other progeny have been at their best on it, too, so the return to a sound surface is a positive.  Finn Lambert has been seen to good effort for his boss in the past week, winning handicaps at Doncaster and Wincanton, so his 8lbs claim (most in this are claiming 3 or 5) is a further boost to our chances.
