UK Horse Racing Tips
The Racing League returns tonight with a mixed turf and all-weather card at Lingfield. It is competitive once again and we have three selections this evening.
Tip 1 – 5.10pm Lingfield
Our first selection comes in the 5f opener. Kool Moe Dee had looked regressive this year but has arrested that decline in his last two starts. Both of which were Racing League contests. He was narrowly beaten by the progressive Marks Bear (fancied for Race 2 this evening) on his penultimate start.
I think his latest effort at Windsor can be upgraded. Time and again on quick ground at Windsor, for whatever reason, jockey’s fail to see the advantage of being close to the rail. Kool Moe Dee made a big mid-race move to sit with the leader out wide. He then ran up the centre in the home straight. The eventual 1-2-3 all raced closest to the rail.
If adopting prominent tactics today, Kool Moe Dee has the perfect draw in 10 to take advantage. Being drawn close to the rail at Lingfield is often an advantage and he has the plum draw in 10. There doesn’t appear, on paper at least, to be a huge amount of pace here so Kool Moe Dee may get a relatively easy time in-front.
5.10pm Lingfield – 1pt win Kool Moe Dee 11/2 general (some 6/1 available)
Tip 2 – 6.10pm Lingfield
It’s not surprising to see Dinoo as favourite. He has the potential to be better than this mark and this opposition. However, the price looks tight enough and he’s already shown in his short career he isn’t one for maximum faith.
Another who I believe has some upside is Smeaton’s Light. He’s been quietly progressive and a model of consistency on the whole this year. Yet to venture beyond 6f, stepping up to 7f today for the first time could well illicit some improvement. It looks a positive move on breeding and his run style suggests he will benefit from an extra furlong. The draw has also been kind to him in 9 to get a nice handy position early.
At the current prices, he looks a touch overs and remains with potential off this mark.
6.10pm Lingfield – 1pt win Smeaton’s Light 13/2 general
Tip 3 – 6.40pm Lingfield
Today’s final selection comes at 6.40pm in the 7 ½f handicap. Dulas is interesting but I think La Maquina offers value at the current prices. I’m happy to discard his last two runs at Goodwood and Lingfield (all-weather). In the latter he was caught wide early, held up and had no chance as the pace held up.
He did remarkably well to win at Newmarket prior to that considering he blew the break. Today’s set up looks ideal for him and he has an excellent record on ground quicker than good. He will need a good pace and a fair bit of luck given his run style. All being well, he can sit on the rail early and hopefully pounce late.
