The juvenile hurdles in the UK at this time of year tend to take very little winning and the odds-on favourite for this, Langafel, won a desperately weak affair on hurdling debut at Newton Abbot.  He is with an excellent trainer of juvenile hurdlers and is clearly going to be better in this sphere than on the flat (rated 55 and unplaced all five starts), but he could be vulnerable under a 7lbs penalty and is worth opposing with The Bravest.

He has been well held on both starts this term on the level, but that has come off marks of 71/70 and he is by some way the best of these in that sphere.

I liked his attitude when just touched off in a soft-ground nursery last October, those spins on the flat should ensure he is fit and ready for today’s hurdling bow, and he won’t fail for stamina, being by Jukebox Jury and out of a Silvano mare, herself a half-sister to the smart chaser Townshend.  Sire Jukebox Jury has a really strong record with his progeny going hurdling (notably with juveniles, including Triumph winner Farclas, Nordano, Tiger Tap Tap etc.) and if The Bravest takes to the jumping game, he should prove difficult to beat.
