Successful in this race 12 months ago, Tabdeed has followed a similar route here this time around and is worth supporting in the Group 3 Hackwood Stakes at Newbury today (3.00pm).

The Owen Burrows-trained six year old has been lightly-raced in his career to date.  However, his second to Glen Shiel on the AW on his return last June was strong form and he followed that with success in this race, getting the better of The Tin Man.  He was reportedly unsuited by the ground when down the field in the Group 1 Sprint Cup at Haydock on his final outing of 2020.

He ran a race full of promise on his seasonal return at Newcastle in the Group 3 Chipchase Stakes and he looks sure to come on for that now returned to turf.  He has a fine career record, his yard is going well and hopefully he can make it six wins from nine starts on the grass.

3.00pm Newbury – 1pt win Tabdeed @ 100/30 (William Hill, Ladbrokes, Coral, 3-1 elsewhere)
