Today’s UK tip runs in the 1m Class 5 handicap at Windsor this evening (7.10pm).

The Jonathan Portman-trained Silverdale looks like a filly capable of defying her big price in this low-grade handicap. This filly shaped with plenty of potential in her juvenile campaign, reaching the frame on two occasions. Those placed efforts were over 7f, where she stayed on stoutly from mid-division.

She was stepped up in trip for her first run this season and was ridden closer to the pace on that occasion. She stuck to her task well however and there was plenty of encouragement to be taken out of that effort.  The trip probably stretched her a bit over 1m2f last time, but back at a mile should see her to much better effect today.

Jockey Tyler Saunders is good value for his 5lbs claim and Silverdale has been given some respite by the handicapper, now down to a mark of 69.  The yard is going well, with 10 of their last 14 runners hitting the first four, so the 25-1 on offer looks appealing.

Recommend bet: 7:10 Windsor Silverdale each-way @ 25-1 4 places (most firms, 33-1 4 places with Bet365, 28-1 4 places with William Hill)
