The nursery at Wolverhampton (1.30pm) doesn’t look the strongest of contests for the grade and Buying Time could take advantage on his handicap debut.

The son of Profitable showed promise on the first of two starts for Richard Hughes earlier in the summer and didn’t get home after setting off quick in front on his next outing.

Switched to Geoffrey Deacon, Buying Time was ridden with restraint over 5f at Lingfield Park (AW) just over a month ago and travelled well enough in rear, before just keeping on at the one pace up the home straight.

He looks sure to come on for that run, his small yard had a winner with this apprentice on board last week and his opening mark looks fair.  First-season sire Profitable’s progeny are 4-17 on the AW so far and with the step up to 6f expected to suit, hopefully Buying Time can bolster those stats.

1.30pm Wolverhampton – 1pt win Buying Time @ 10-1 (most firms)

Though a maiden after seven starts, Saulire Star has shown sufficient ability to win races on more than one occasion and travelled into the straight looking the likely winner on her sole previous start on the All-Weather, over this course and distance in April.

She lost her way on her next couple of starts, but this scopey, well-related filly finished third over 1m2f at Ffos Las last time in first-time cheekpieces, finding the drop in trip against her and getting outpaced before staying on close home.  Both the winner and runner-up won next time out, so the form looks strong enough.

She was dropped 3lbs for that effort and can now get in 0-55 for the first time, running off a mark 6lbs lower than when second here in the spring.

Her yard is in fine form after a really quiet couple of months and the booking of the bang in-form David Probert is another plus.  Her half-sister took nine runs to get off the mark, but that came with a six-length win here off 65 as a late three year old and she went on to rate 25lbs higher the following season.  Saulire Star looks to have the physical scope to progress and is a confident selection.

3.10pm Wolverhampton – 2pts win, 1pt place Saulire Star @ 13/2 (Paddy Power, Betfair, Skybet, William Hill)
