I used to begin my form study for this great race by looking for very experienced horses who had had at least a sighter of these fences, but you need to move with the times and now I feel this is a race that typically goes to younger, less exposed chasers post the modifications.

In the last five years, this race has been won by horses aged eight or nine, so it makes sense to focus on that age group and look for horses with confirmed stamina profiles.

Willie Mullins saddles the fancied Burrows Saint and I think 10-1 is a very attractive price for a horse that promises to stay and has been minded for this race by the master trainer.

Raced just nine times over fences, Burrows Saint has had three quiet runs this season and that makes far more appeal to me than when compared to favourite Cloth Cap, who won the Hennessy back in November. I would have preferred Paul Townend in the saddle, but nevertheless, I think he has a strong chance of being placed at the least.
