Taunton Tips and Racecourse Guide
Taunton is the youngest National Hunt racecourse in England, having opened its gates in 1927, and hosts 14 race meetings over jumps each year.
Located in the heart of Somerset, the meetings tend to attract big fields, particularly in the maiden/novice races and in the low-grade handicaps. A tight, right-handed track, it suits front-runners.
The 3m handicap hurdle that closes today’s card at Taunton (4.50pm) is big on numbers, but low on quality, with just three of the 15 runners rated within 10lbs of the ceiling for the grade.
Sindabella looks sure to go well once again, but at a nice price Ballybough Mary could be the one to beat her.
The six year old has been disappointing over timber this term, but her point/bumper form suggests there are races to be won with her in this sphere, particularly off her current mark of 99.
Sent off favourite on her hurdling bow in December in a race that has worked out really well, she ran well enough at Warwick on her penultimate start and can be expected to come on for what was a fair handicap debut effort at Huntingdon last time. Nigel Twiston-Davies has his team in sparkling form, which is another plus.

We head to Taunton for today's bet, with Sawpit Sienna an interesting contender in the concluding handicap hurdle (4.05pm). Sam Drinkwater's mare had figures of 12202 for the yard last term. Several pieces of her form read very well in the context of this, including...
The maiden hurdle at Taunton looks a weak enough contest on paper and at the prices this morning, it is well worth giving Frankeur another chance to show what he is capable of. In the frame in two AQPS bumpers in France in 2019, he returned from 18 months in a warm...
