UK Horse Racing Tips – 25 September

It’s a shame that the racing today at Hamilton has been abandoned. Our attention turns to Newcastle where we have two bets on the card.

Tip 1 – 7.00pm Newcastle

Another Angel is now extremely well handicapped and can record an eighth career success at his favoured venue. He wasn’t at his best in the spring and, as a result, started to slip down the handicap. Given five months off and a wind operation procedure, he bounced back to form last Monday at Wolverhampton finishing a close second.

He defied market expectations that day and was only beaten by an unexposed three-year-old handicap debutant from the George Boughey yard. That run was over 6f too and considering all his wins have come over 5f, that is another positive.

Numerous times throughout his career he has won off higher marks and he looks set to strike again. Triple Jaye and Aleef, in particular, are big dangers but Another Angel has optimal conditions and he should be difficult to beat.

7.00pm Newcastle – 1pt win Another Angel 11/4 general (some 3/1 available)

Tip 2 – 7.30pm Newcastle

Fennaan was a big eye-catcher on Friday over this course and distance. He wasn’t asked for an effort until far too late and ran on in to a never nearer fourth. There were a couple of others that were unlucky in that race too. This contest tonight is a slightly weaker affair and he can make amends.

He had become extremely disappointing but has shown both at Doncaster and latterly at Newcastle that he is in good heart. The handicapper has given him every chance and it’s surely a matter of time before he makes a mockery of his current mark.

He clearly goes well at Newcastle and enjoys artificial surfaces and he can take advantage of his first foray in to class six company.

7.30pm Newcastle – 1pt win Fennaan 10/3 general (some 7/2 & 4/1 available)

+ 0.5pt win double Another Angel & Fennaan (approximate odds 15.25/1)
