UK Horse Racing Tips – Tuesday 7th September
Moderate cards all round today, we have one selection at Goodwood and two at Windsor.
Tip 1 – 4.05pm Goodwood
The feature race on Goodwood’s card is the 2m handicap. A small but competitive field and it’s hard to discount any of the runners. Perhaps the one with most upside is Bodyline. He is relatively unexposed after only ten career starts compared to some of his rivals.
Bodyline ran in some useful contests as a three-year-old and signed off for the 2020 season with a comfortable victory at Yarmouth. His seasonal reappearance at Musselburgh was a career best but then he disappointed at York last time. He has run twice at York and ran deplorably on both occasions. Crucially, he’s been a model of consistency otherwise and I’m happy to put a line through that run. Back away on York and on quick ground, he is worth chancing at the prices to continue his progression.
4.05pm Goodwood – 1pt win Bodyline 5/1 general
Tip 2 – 5.15pm Windsor
Just The Lord has a lot to prove but is worth chancing in the 5f sprint at 5.15pm. He was well below form in two runs last year. It is a big concern that he hasn’t been sighted since and it’s a bit of a guess as to how much ability he retains.
Nevertheless, the owners persist and he has moved to Simon Hodgson. Hodgson is a vastly underrated and is operating at a 28% strike rate this year. He has proven equally adept at improving and revitalising horses that move in to his care. If he has Just The Lord in good form, he will be hard to beat. He is very well handicapped on old form, he’s proven his aptitude for Windsor and conditions will suit.
The opposition hold no secrets from the handicapper and Just The Lord is the angle on the proviso that Simon Hodgson has reinvigorated him.
5.15pm Windsor – 1pt win Just The Lord 13/2 general
Tip 3 – 6.45pm Windsor
Gary Moore has his string in blistering form and Pure Bubbles can continue that winning thread. Pure Bubbles remains a maiden but has shown more than enough to win a race of this nature. He was beaten only a head in July at Epsom in July off 79 and he’s now 2lbs lower.
It’s easy to put a line through his Goodwood run where a number of the jockeys who sat prominently went brainless fractions. He returned to form in a valuable race at Lingfield last month. That was a much stronger race than today.
Barenboim has also been contesting better races of late but I think Pure Bubbles has more potential off their respective marks.
6.45pm Windsor 1pt win Pure Bubbles 7/2 general
