Lots of action today and we have four selections at Redcar, Sandown and Doncaster.

Tip 1 – 4.53pm Redcar

Our first selection comes in the finale at Redcar. This is an extremely weak contest and realistically there are only a couple of contenders with plausible claims. Jedd O’Keeffe looks to have found a gilt-edge opportunity for Rainbow’s Gift to get off the mark.

Rainbow’s Gift two latest runs suggests he has races in him off this kind of mark. The latest run at Carlisle implied he’ll benefit from a greater test of stamina which he gets today.

Both the Haydock and Carlisle runs look solid pieces of form and they were stronger races than this. Winners have come out of both races.

This is significantly weaker and the main danger looks to be the in-form De Mazzaro. Nevertheless, Rainbow’s Gift should take full advantage of the weight for age allowance and shed his maiden tag.

4.53pm Redcar – 2pt win Rainbow’s Gift 2/1 generally

Tip 2 – 5.42pm Doncaster

We go to Doncaster and the start of the second day of the Racing League for our next selection. This looks a trappy event with three-year-olds dominating the head of the market at the time of writing.

One with upside to improve is Hey Mr. Progressive as a two-year-old, the son of Territories has been somewhat of disappointment. Indeed, given how strong he was in the market on his first two runs this season suggests much better was expected.

Subsequently gelded, he looks the type who will benefit from the cruellest cut of them all. If he were to replicate his seasonal reappearance at York then he will be bang there.

Now down to attractive mark of 79, he looks to have everything in his favour. He also won’t mind if the forecast showers arrive this afternoon prior to racing commencing.

5.42pm Doncaster – 1pt win Hey Mr 6/1 generally

Tip 3 – 8.07pm Sandown

This looks a field of moderately handicapped horses, the exception being Biggles. A big, scopey sort who hasn’t yet fulfilled his potential but connections’ persistent can be rewarded.

He was a big eye-catcher on his return from a mammoth absence at Wolverhampton in March before winning comfortably over 6f at Kempton. Gelded thereafter, he travelled supremely well pulling a long way clear of the remainder of the field at Newmarket but beaten in to second.

Biggles then ran no sort of race at Salisbury and has since been given two months off. That time off to develop shouldn’t be an issue given his size and he can resume his progression tonight.

8.07pm Sandown – Biggles 1pt win 4/1 generally

Tip 4 – 8.25pm Doncaster

Our final selection comes in the final race at Doncaster with Amir Kabir. He really should have already got off the mark for the season already and this is a great chance to put that right.

It is admittedly quite difficult to make too many excuses for a below par run at Newmarket last time but he has bounced back from poor efforts previously.

The two runs before that at Leicester and Newbury suggest he is well handicapped and he has been dropped 2lb following that Newmarket run.

There should be plenty of pace on here and a return to a more conventional galloping track should suit him.

8.25pm Doncaster – Amir Kabir 1pt win 11/2 generally
