Tony Carroll has his team in fine form at present and Temur Khan could continue his recent winning spree at Southwell this evening (6.10pm).

The six year old has tumbled down the handicap in the past 18 months, but was a dual winner here in 2019, the latest of those successes coming off 20lbs higher and both of them under David Probert, who is back on board today for the first time since the summer.

A fair run in defeat at Chelmsford in January suggested Temur Khan’s turn might be near, and a return to form again looked on the cards over 1m6f here last time, where he finished fourth of six over 1m6f.  However, that was in a 0-75, and the winner has gone in again twice (latest to an RPR of 96), the runner-up won next time and then finished second on her latest outing, while the third has since run very well in a 0-80.

The return to this trip will suit and the drop in grade is a massive plus.
