Our first bet of the day is at Huntingdon, where Fairfield Ferrata looks a big price to bounce back to form in the mares’ maiden hurdle (1.00pm).

The Jedd O’Keeffe-trained daughter of Kayf Tara had made a really promising start to her career.  Second on her first two starts in bumpers, she scored on soft ground at Ayr in November and went on to finish a close second on her hurdling debut at Hexham in December, staying on really well over two miles and shaping as though this step up in trip would suit very well.  The winner that day went on to win well on her next outing and is now rated 124.

Fairfield Ferrata was well-fancied in the market at Wetherby on Boxing Day, but ran no sort of race and was pulled up some way out.  However, the yard is in good form and given her previously progressive and consistent profile, she can be excused one poor effort.

She has had a two-break since and reappears in a competitive contest, but one that lacks any obvious star quality.  Her prominent style of racing is well suited to this track and at 33-1, she represents some value.

1.00pm Huntingdon – 0.5pts each-way Fairfield Ferrata @ 33-1 (Bet365, 25s elsewhere)
