Decidedly moderate racing today with only a handful of appealing betting heats. We have two selections today and both come this evening at Windsor.

Tip 1 – 5.55pm Windsor

Our first selection comes in the 5f handicap sprint and Hans Solo Berger looks to have been found an ideal opening. He has put in a number of underwhelming runs this season. Nevertheless, his two most recent runs at Newmarket and Chelmsford indicate he is ready to win again.

Hans Solo Berger has been dropped a further 2lb from his last turf run. He’s now 8lb below his last run at Chelmsford where he was only just beaten over a length. There is no real evidence either to suggest he’s a vastly superior on the all-weather. A mark of 78 gives him a real opportunity to get off the mark for the season. This is quite a competitive race for the grade but Hans Solo Berger is too well treated to be ignored.

Tip 2 – 6.55pm Windsor

Glen Esk is progressive and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him take this step up in grade in his stride. However, the versatile Prince Of Harts looks the one to beat.

Versatile in regards to trip and he goes on any ground, this could well prove to be a nice bit of placing. His latest run at Sandown in an amateur riders’ handicap can be upgraded. The eventual first and second managed to get loose on the lead and stayed there. They went very slowly early on and Prince Of Harts made a big and sustained effort round the home bend to close on the front two. Making up such an amount of ground round a long bend surely wouldn’t have been optimal. Prince Of Harts did, however, manage to stick on well and hold off the closers to finish 3rd.

He has been dropped 1lb for that run and now runs in a weaker grade than he’s been used to contesting. Oisin Murphy takes over and the trainer couldn’t be in better form.
