The middle-distance 3yo handicap at Windsor this evening looks really weak and though he’ll need to take a step forwards on what he has shown so far, at the prices it is worth taking a chance on Urban Forest.

The Ed de Giles-trained son of Cityscape showed nothing in two starts last term, but I thought there was a bit of promise in his reappearance effort at Carlisle at the end of May over 1m1f in a race that is working out well.

Though never sighted on handicap debut at Chepstow last time, he wasn’t beaten that far in a considerably deeper race than this and it is encouraging to see him stepping up in trip (his sire’s progeny tend to stay well) and back on softer ground – both sides of the page suggest that will help.

Callum Hutchinson takes off 7lbs and has already ridden a winner for this in-form yard.

7.45pm Windsor – 1pt win Urban Forest @ 14-1 (WillHill, BetVictor, 20s available with Bet365, 12-1 elsewhere)
