Two bets at Angers today – not much time to write these up, so I’ll make it brief!

Dschingis Spectre should be very difficult to beat in the colts/geldings maiden (1.58pm).  He stepped up on a fairly promising debut effort when runner-up at Lyon last time and that’s certainly the best form on offer.  Mathieu Brasme is enjoying a fine start to the season and there should be more to come from this well-bred colt, so he is a confident selection.

1.58pm Angers – 2pts win Dschingis Spectre @ 11/8 (all firms)

In the fillies’ contest, Siren looks too big a price at 7-1.  The sole Prix de Diane entry from the excellent Tim Donworth yard (operating at a 31% strike-rate this term), she ran a really nice race on debut to finish fifth at Saint-Cloud and looks sure to build on that.

2.33pm Angers – 2pts win, 1pt place Siren @ 7-1 (all firms, 15/2 WillHill)
